What the tools do
The alcohol calculator uses the selected nation, ABV, volume and pack quantity. The vape calculator uses actual liquid volume. The site is not a government service and does not approve products or transactions under every licensing rule.
Our calculation sources
We use published Welsh Government, Scottish Government and HMRC guidance, linked beside the relevant calculators. Different rounding rules are handled separately. Administrators can record effective-dated alcohol rate changes with an official source; historical account checks retain their original result.
Label and barcode accuracy
Label OCR runs on your device and can misread small, curved or stylised text. Barcode data may come from your saved products, an administrator-confirmed catalogue or Open Food Facts. Always verify detected values against the package before confirming.
Corrections and updates
If a label value is wrong, edit it before calculation. Signed-in users can save corrected products to their own account. Shared catalogue and pricing-rule changes require administrator access and are recorded in an audit log. Check the official source if the law or product packaging has changed.
Privacy
Uploaded label images are processed locally and are not saved by this app. Signed-in product records and recent checks are stored for the user’s account. Barcode lookups may send the barcode to Open Food Facts. The selected nation is stored in this browser and can be removed with the “Forget nation” button.
