How to calculate minimum alcohol prices in Wales
Multiply the total volume in litres by the ABV percentage and £0.65. Use the strength as printed: enter 5 for a drink marked 5% ABV. Round the final amount to the nearest penny, with half a penny rounded up.
Formula: total litres × ABV × £0.65.

What the result covers
The 65p rate took effect on 1 October 2026. Welsh MUP excludes drinks at or below 1.2% ABV. This tool checks the MUP floor for standard retail alcohol; it does not replace other licensing requirements.
