Calculate your minimum price

Example: 750ml at 12.5% ABV → £6.10.

Published rate: 65p per unit. Confirm the product details before relying on a result.

Calculate Scotland’s minimum unit price

Multiply the ABV percentage by the total volume in litres and £0.65. If the result contains a fraction of a penny, round up to the next whole penny.

Formula: total litres × ABV × £0.65, rounded up.

Multipacks and promotions require additional checks

The rate has been 65p per unit since 30 September 2024. A MUP calculation alone does not approve a Scottish promotion. Off-sales multibuy discounts are restricted, and multipack pricing requirements may also affect the permitted price where singles are sold.

This calculator does not return a Scottish minimum for drinks at or below 1.2% ABV; consult the official guidance for that case.
